Kinaura: Partner Compatibility iPhone App

Kinaura is live on the App Store: a free iPhone app where two people each take a short set of assessments, then Sync to see where they click, where friction starts, and how they recover. Fifteen months from first idea to launch, built with the OpsPal team.

Kinaura: Partner Compatibility

Know what's real between you.

The problem

The first dates and first weeks of getting to know someone are full of ambiguity. Personality quizzes describe one person. Dating apps describe a profile. Neither tells two real people how they work together: what draws them in, where friction is likely to start, and how they come back after conflict.

What we built

A free iPhone app built around a pair, not a single user:

  • Short assessment modules. A core assessment plus attachment, character traits, and how each person shows up and repairs with someone.
  • Sync. Two people connect their results and get a private, directional read of how they fit. It starts at a basic level and goes deeper in layers as they learn more about each other.
  • Privacy by agreement. What each person shares is limited to the level both of them agree to.
  • Retake and trend. Results can be retaken over time, so a person can see how they operate under different conditions instead of being stuck with one label.

How it was run

I designed the model and led the product; the OpsPal team built and shipped it. The app sits on the same platform as the Kinaura web release: a scoring engine, a data service, and a first-party analytics and revenue ledger that measures pairs, not page views.

The hardest part wasn’t code. It was cutting a much larger vision down to a slice a new user can understand in one sitting, and putting the user’s goal at the center of every screen.

Where it stands

Live on the App Store since October 2026, published under OpsPal LLC, and free while we watch how people use it. Nothing in Kinaura is validated yet as a predictor of how a relationship turns out, and the app says so. Next is accuracy and usefulness of the Sync read, then AI features that build on a person’s profile.

The full story of the platform, including how it was scoped and built, is on the OpsPal case study. The founder’s account of the 15 months is in Kinaura is live.
